And the Winner is…
Tuesday, June 22, 2010Hi Stitchers!
We love our needlework retailers, and appreciate the time and effort these folks put into providing customers with product and educational opportuniities.
During the recent TNNA show, we sponsored a drawing for retailers featuring a DMC Merchandise credit.
The winner was chosen after blindfolding and spinning an unsuspecting staff member, who selected the entry. Don’t worry – she’s fine and the room is no longer spinning…
We’re pleased as punch to announce that the winner of this drawing is Acorns and Threads in Portland, Oregon!
Acorns and Threads has been involved in the Oregon needlework scene for 14 years and is a magnet for all things worked with needle and thread. It draws enthusiasts from all over Oregon and Southwest Washington, and beyond.
Acorns and Threads features a dazzling assortment of needlework threads and supplies, patterns, terrific classes taught by local and nationally-known teachers and tons of stitched models for inspiration.
I recently had an opportunity to visit this shop (unannounced, as I often do – I love the element of surprise!) and meet its owner, Jeannine Cheney, and her helpful staff.
This store is massive, and at the heart of the store is large, inviting oak work table where stitchers can congregate to learn, share and be inspired. The table is always full of customers and staff, working on their latest projects. It’s so easy to linger here and just soak it all in.
If you’re ever in the Portland, Oregon area, this shop is well worth a visit.
Congratulations, Acorns and Threads!

Looks like a wonderful colourful treasure trove.
Stitchers in the Portland area are lucky to have to have such choices. Congratulations.
