And the Winner Is…
Tuesday, December 20, 2011
The winner of DMC’s Reindeer Stitch-Along is Reinaldo the Reindeer, stitched by Katelin Chafe of Canada.
She’s the lucky winner of the Limited Edition DMC Bobbin Chest!
Katelin’s version of the reindeer features several different embroidery threads including DMC Embroidery Floss and DMC Light Effects Floss in Jewel Effects and Antique Effects. The design is accented with Mill Hill seed beads.
She has used several different embroidery stitches in her reindeer including the stem stitch, long stitch, back stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch, running stitch, a lattice stitch variation and cross stitch.
I’ve shown Katelin’s sketch so you can see where she used each stitch.
Katelin writes, “As you can tell, I am deeply in love with my Reindeer, and I have really enjoyed the challenge of stitching him! Reinaldo will make a wonderful and welcome addition to my Christmas tree this year, and I really appreciate your efforts in hosting this SAL, and in making this cute design available! It was awesome of you and DMC to open it up as a Contest as well.”
Thank you Katelin, for sharing your version of the reindeer project. We hope you enjoy the prize!

I’m absolutely delighted and deeply honored that Reinaldo has won, and that gorgeous prize will definitely be taking up a place of pride in my home, hopefully helping to encourage future embroidery endeavours
This is the first SAL I’ve ever participated in, and it has been a wonderful experience! Hopefully this will be the start of many more here on DMC Threads
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas!
Very cute version of the deer!
