Valentine Heart Pins

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

I love wearing handcrafted jewelry, and these beautiful, one of a kid pins, created by designer Ana Araujo are so cute!

Make a single pin, or make an entire batch to wear for Valentine’s Day or give as gifts.

You can get the directions for making the pins over on the When Creativity Knocks site.

The pins are made from basic materials including DMC Embroidery Floss, decorative buttons and trims, fabrics, pin backs and die cut hearts made from fabrics and old jeans.

I love how she refers to Emma’s Stitch Tool for the various stitches used in the pins. The book features comprehensive directions for 18 popular stitches, with photos, diagrams, written instructions and helpful tips for embroidery.

Ana suggests attaching a pin to a card to give as a gift – what a terrific idea!

Thanks, Ana, for sharing this fun idea with us.
