The New Waste Canvas

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

I must confess, I have been obsessed with DMC’s Water Soluble Canvas.

Can you blame me? It’s so easy to now stitch onto any surface (t-shirts, bags, cuffs, pillow, tablecloths, tea towels… ahh so many ideas!) using the sturdy holes in the clear 14-count canvas.

I am going to experiment tonight with some vintage t-shirts I picked up and decorate them with applique and embroidered stitches all over. Pick up some for yourself at Joanne’s, or online at the DMC Shop.

To get you started using this wonderful material, DMC has produced a brand new video for you! Check it out below. Make sure to pay the DMC You Tube Channel a visit, we are releasing new videos each day this week!

I have been busy prepping for Market this weekend. DMC will be in room 608 showcasing the new Color Variation colors and holding a fun raffle.

Oh by the way have you popped over to the DMC Facebook Page lately? We are holding a sweepstakes to honor our 10,000 Facebook Friends. Be the first to get your hands on the new variation threads before they hit stores! Must be in USA or Canada to enter (sorry my international friends) Go here for official rules for the contest.

Thank you for sharing this new product with us. I have not seen it in any of the local stores yet.

This is a fantastic product. I am working on “unfinished projects” which span, some 18 years. One is a nursery print, stitched on waste canvas over a “quilted” fabric. Needless to say, I am having a difficult time in removing the waste canvas from this piece. I am tempted to just start a new one with this new product. I feel the stitching will go much faster!
