On the Road with Emma
Tuesday, October 18, 2011
I’ve been on the road this week, and I just can’t resist a detour to a local needlework store (LNS) while travelling.
This week’s trip found me at ThreadNeedle Street in Issaquah, Washington, about 30 minutes east of Seattle.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this shop, so I could hardly wait to get there.
The shop’s owner, Denise, greeted me warmly and was very helpful. But the best thing, is that the shop was stocked literally to the roof with all manner of needlework goodies!
The shop carries an outstanding selection of needlework books, beads, kits, trims, buttons, tools, notions and fabrics for embroidery, cross stitch and needlepoint.
The selection of threads was incredible, and she carried the entire line of DMC Needlework Threads including Embroidery Floss and Pearl Cotton as well as Color Variations and Memory Thread, DMC Satin Floss and Light Effects.
Denise also carries harder-to-find DMC Floche in 87 colors, as well as DMC Crochet Thread like Broder Special, Tatting Cotton and Cordonnet.
Luckily, ThreadNeedle Street does offer mail and online ordering if you can’t find your favorite DMC Threads in your area.
Needlepoint enthusiasts will love the selection of hand-painted canvases and the selection of DMC Needlepoint Threads including Medicis and Tapestry Wool.
I left with a bag full of goodies – and looking forward to another visit someday.
