Projects That are a HOOT to Stitch
Friday, June 22, 2012Hi All!
I thought it would be fun to give you free projects related to a theme and that are a “HOOT” to stitch.
Today I’m posting three projects, all featuring adorable owls.
These three projects use a wide range of DMC Embroidery Threads and are worked in a variety of techniques including Punch Needle, Half Cross Stitch and Surface Embroidery.
Choose your favorite owl pattern and start stitching!
The Punch Needle Owl is cleverly worked in varying lengths of loops, giving it a wooly, 3-dimensional look. It’s worked in a variety of threads including size 5 pearl cotton, embroidery floss, Color Variations floss, Light Effects and Satin Floss.
The Half Cross Stitch Owl is worked in half cross stitch. It’s super-quick and lots of fun to stitch, and is worked entirely in DMC Pearl Cotton Variations and #5 Pearl Cotton.
The third project is the Surface Embroidery Owl.
Working gthe surface embroidery owl project gives you an opportunity to not only try a wide variety of embroidery threads including but also a wide variety of stitches!
You can learn to transfer the design to fabric and work all of these stitches and others by visiting our Embroidery Stitch Guide on the main web page.
Happy Stitching!
