Organize your Stitching Studio with Emma and Friends + Fabric Storage Bin with Embroidered Monogrammed Tutorial
Thursday, April 29, 2010Hello Everyone-
How cute was Terri’s studio?? We are continuing the stitching studio series today with my next lovely guest, Julia Bravo. Julia has a blog called 33stitches
Julia Bravo’s Studio
“The type of needlework I do is Zakka inspired sewing, with embroidered details.”
“My studio is the smallest bedroom of our home, so organization is essential. While I do like to work in a “cozy” (or what people may refer to as cluttered) atmosphere, it is definitely organized clutter!”
“I have 4 shelving units in my sewing studio. 3 are used to house my fabrics, which I have organized by color as well as type (Japanese, vintage and mixed). The tops of the 3 units, hold some craft books, sewing machines, Japanese craft magazines as well as storage containers.”
“My other storage unit holds my stereo, TV, nick knacks, even more craft supplies, books and fabric scraps, which are organized as well in separate fabric covered bins, colorful plastic containers, and even a vintage bread box is currently holding my wool roving.”
“I have 3 separate work tables, one for my computer, my main working/sewing table, has a skirt attached, and I have a small storage unit underneath that houses my purse hardware. My favorite work station is the smallest of the three, this is where I have set up my hand stitching/embroidery corner.”
“I use a vintage sewing basket to store all my extra floss and whichever flosses are being used as a part of a current project, I have them on a remove able tray so they can ‘travel’ with me, if I decide to work outside my studio.”
Thanks Julia for sharing your bright and absolutely adorable studio with us!
