Hi All!

Just wanted to remind you that today is the last day to submit your entry for the Why I Love to Stitch contest we’re hosting in partnership with A.C. Moore Stores

We’ve had some awesome entries, but there’s still time to win. The call for entries closes at midnight tonight.

On the news front, the National NeedleArts Association (TNNA) is sponsoring an educational needlearts booth at the Detroit Maker Faire at The Henry Ford, July 30-31.

They’re looking for volunteers to teach knitting, crochet, embroidery, needlepoint and cross stitch.  It’s a terrific opportunity to share your skills and teach others a new hooby!

This is an amazingly fun experience that DMC staffers participated in last year as well.

They are asking for volunteers to sign up for a few hours of teaching – and in return you will receive FREE entrance to Maker Faire (value: $25) on the day you volunteer.

If you aren’t familiar with Maker Faire, it’s a two-day, family-friendly event that celebrates the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset.

It is for creative, resourceful people of all ages and backgrounds who like to tinker and love to make things.

For more information on Maker Faire visit their website.

If you’d like to sign up for your volunteer shift, please include contact information in the “notes to organizer” or email your contact info to tnnamaker@gmail.com. They’ll be in touch with more information about your volunteer day at Maker Faire.

Thank you!

~Emma
