Stitch a huggable Santa outlined in Memory Thread for the holidays.
This simple pattern is worked in several easy needlepoint stitches using DMC Tapestry Wool, and works up quickly on 12-count canvas.
The design is worked in continental stitch with the background area in diagonal mosaic stitch – or choose decorative and textured stitches for the beard and hat, such as satin stitch or brick stitch.
The finished Size is approximately 7.5 x 7.5 inches on canvas, and just over 8×8 inches on Aida.
Here’s the materials list (below), and in the next blog I will post the pattern – then we’ll start stitching!

Not into needlepoint and prefer to cross stitch? No problem!
Instead of needlepoint canvas, stitch Santa and the surrounding border on 14-count Charles Craft Gold Standard Aida in Navy or Denim Blue using DMC Embroidery Floss! A chart showing corresponding colors can be found here.
…and, I’ll be providing finishing instructions to make the stand-up shown above!
Gather your materials, my friends!
