LOVE-ly Free Projects!

Valentine’s Day is less than 2 weeks away – but there’s still time to stitch a gift for a special someone!

Here are 2 projects that are quick to stitch, and are sure to melt your heart.

The Sweet Heart Sampler features 16 mix-and-match motifs that can be stitched into a sampler as shown, or used individually to adorn cards, finish as ornaments, or attach a pin-back and make a Valentine brooch!

DMC’s Color Variations Embroidery Thread was used on 14-count Aida, for a sampler that measures just under 5 x 5 inches.

For a bit of romance, we’re also featuring this lovely French chart for a beautiful red heart worked in Cross Stitch and Straight Stitch (and while the French text translates to “At the Heart of Winter”, the design is still perfect for Valentines Day –  you could easily choose to stitch your initials instead of the critters, and delete the text above and below the heart).

The sample was worked on a linen towel, but the design can also be stitched on plain LinenAida, colored Evenweave or other types of needlework fabric from CharlesCraft or DMC.

The heart design is also versatile – stitch the design and frame it, or finish as pin cushion, scissor fob, or pillow!

Enjoy!

~Emma

Thank you for these! Remember they also work for needlepoint. On 18 mesh canvas, they will be lovely, tiny things to use as motifs to create ribbons and all kinds of cool projects. The largest two will only be a bit over 1″.

it is so hard to read what you have on your site with the blue back ground. Really having a hard time finding out what there is on your blog. Change the colors to some thing easier to see.

Kathryn, there is no blue background. Are you clicking on the photo or the hyper-linked text?

ARGH! I get a 404 error when trying to get the sampler design – has it moved somewhere else? I’d really love to get it.

Sorry you are having difficulty Kim. I just tested them and they work fine. Try deleting your browsing history and cookies. Sometimes that helps clear the bottleneck. ~Emma
