Independent Needlework Shop Program

Thursday, May 19, 2011

DMC has developed a new innovative advertising campaign to further support and help drive consumers to the independent needlework shops called the DMC Independent Needlework Shop Advertising Campaign.

The advertising campaign is part of DMC’s Independent Needlework Shop Program, a program implemented by DMC in an effort to help support Independent Needlework Shops by increasing their awareness and visibility.

Earlier this year DMC developed a series of national consumer advertisements in industry publications with a rotating directory of needlework shops.

So far DMC has listed approximately 100 local needlework shops in publications such as Just Cross Stitch and Create & Decorate!

DMC has been personally calling independent needlework shops to verify shop information and to start dialogue between DMC and independent shop owners.

DMC recognizes needlework shops as helping to be the lifeblood of the industry. Brick and mortar shop owners help to drive new stitchers into the category while providing personal customer attention and expert education.

DMC loves our retailers and will continue to provide as much support as possible!

Good to know that you are working to help our favorite haunts to keep up the good work. Thank you for myself and my retailer friends.

Love to support my LNS – if only I had one!

The LNS’s need all the support they can get. Needlework is getting pushed aside in favor of electronic entertainment. There’s nothing as satisfying as creating something by hand.

I also think it’s great. No needlework shops in my area. Many local hobby shops have stopped carrying needlework stuff, or have a very limited supply of things. I do most of my shopping for supplies on line these days. It does sort of bug me that machine embroidery has taken over many of the sites.

I would love a local needlework shop, but there are none in my area either. Just a craft store that rarely has the floss stocked and a fabric store a bit farther away.
