I love holiday crafts with an unexpected color palette – it’s so wonderful to find something new and unique…
Just look at these gorgeous muted gold, pink, and light turquoise threads in Torie Jayne‘s Christmas inspiration post – these are not traditional holiday colors, but they make absolutely beautiful holiday crafts…
Torie’s photos are drool-worthy, and will certainly inspire you to go beyond the traditional holiday red and green… Visit her post.
Speaking of unexpected and lovely holiday palettes, how about this beautiful Christmas tree design by Septemberhouse?
Corinne stitched her tree pattern using DMC Precious Metals Light Effects silver floss (now, how’s that for a mouthful?) Her pattern, along with several other lovely holiday designs, is available in her store.
However, let’s not disparage the traditional red and green!
I love this sweet Christmas tree pattern on Kelly Fletcher’s site – Get the free pattern.
Kelly’s detailed pattern lists all the DMC floss colors you’ll need, using subtle avocado and melon shades. She also maps out a wonderful assortment of stitches to practice, including fishbone, stem stitch, chinese knots, pinwheel, and Palestrina, to name a few. But I’m sure you can easily pick just one stitch and run with it, as well.
I hope this post finds you crafting and inspired! Do you have a favorite holiday pattern you’re stitching up with our threads? Why not share it with us, we’d all love to see!
