Halloween Freebie Roundup

How cute is this Halloween sampler? Such a lovely design, and it’s available as a freebie, from Whispered By The Wind.

I don’t know about you, but I get pretty excited about Halloween – it may be here and gone before you can get a stitch in, but to me it’s the first time Fall feels real.

During the last days of October you can sip some hot cider, feel a bit of chill, watch the leaves begin to change, and just rejoice in every cozy smell and interior.

I’ve found some lovely Halloween freebies for you this week, and they’re all very doable in a short amount of time…

First up – Vive Halloween! Now, don’t let the French “vive” scare you – “Halloween” is spelled the same here and in France, it seems! This sweet and creepy cross stitch freebie comes from the wonderful French-language blog, Brodyzen Créations.

Pumpkins, green ghouls, and bats decorate a simple but adorable border on this free design by Connie G. Barwick.

This chart would look fabulous on white or beige Aida, or also on something more textured like Carolina Linen.

And finally, nothing says Fall to me like a sweet owl pattern. If cross stitch is not your thing, why not give one of our DMC freebie owl patterns a try? Hand embroidery could give you that little extra nudge at creativity – I love the punch needle owl as is, but you can easily modify the colors to go from cute to creepy.

Everything here can be stitched with our own lovely DMC Threads, and why not get a little creative with which threads you stitch with? Why not try something new? Maybe some Memory Thread in bright orange, purple, green or black, for added texture. Or maybe you’ve been eyeing the Metallic Pearl or Satin Floss – S741, S553, S471 and S976 are all calling out to me with their spooky, shimmery possibilities…. My point is, now is the time to experiment! And if you do, we’d love to see it!
