Friday Freebies – Back to School
Friday, August 12, 2011Some of you may be sad, while others jumping up and down cheering in pure delight (it’s been a long, hot summer…).
Whatever category you’re in, there’s no denying it’s time to take a bit of time to yourself and stitch a bit. You deserve it!
Today I’m posting two free patterns to celebrate the kiddies going back into the classroom – both featuring alphabets.
The first design features the entire alphabet worked into the shape of a pretty heart. Different styles of lettering have been used throughout the heart alphabet pattern, making this a really unique piece.
Stitch the design using three colors of DMC Color Variations embroidery floss on your favorite count of CharlesCraft Aida fabric.
The design will measure approximately 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches on 11-count, 4 x 4 inches on 14-count, and 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 on 16-count.
The second free pattern features a classic alphabet with numbers and an inkwell surrounded by a geometric border.
The inkwell alphabet pattern is also worked in three colors of DMC Color Variations embroidery floss on Aida, with a design area of approximately 9 x 12 inches when worked on 11-count, 7 1/4 x 10 inches worked on 14-count and 6 1/4 x 8 1/2 on 16-count.
