I hope you’re enjoying the wealth of freebies we’ve been posting, and that it’s inspiring you all to create for the holidays! Here’s what I found this week while combing the internet for inspiration!
This beautiful “Give Thanks” freebie was posted by Isobel on The Primitive Hare last year.
I love the patchwork fabric border and the tea-stained antique linen – for those of you who like the look of tea stained linen, but don’t want to starin your eyes with tiny xes – have you ever tried tea-staining your Aida cloth? Starting with our plain white Aida cloth, try this tutorial on About.com to achieve a rich, varied color.
I think those fall leaves and lettering would also be an excellent opportunity to try our Color Variations threads.
There’s a Halloween Stitching Challenge on Notforgotten Farm. Stitch up this adorable free cross stitch pattern by Lori before October 15 for a chance to win a gift certificate to her lovely Etsy shop.
This pattern can be worked so many different ways – all in black, or reversed – white on black aida, or with my Halloween go-to – glow in the dark Light Effects floss, or how about testing out our newest thread colors? SO many possibilities – I love stitch challenges!
This Boo Hoop Tutorial on Do Small Things With Great Love is a great quick last-minute project – using fabric leftovers, lace bits, and a few quick stitches, this looks like a fun quick finish.
Maybe you can even include some spooky hidden messages in our glow-in-the-dark thread on that white background? Adorably spooky!
There’s a sweet, fun Holiday Gift Guide from Kitschy Digitals – and there are tons of lovely freebies hidden away inside!
Featuring quirky patterns and vintage art, the guide is peppered with “free” symbols – click each one to download a free pattern – 12 free patterns total! I dare you not to hunt every page until you find them all.
