Update from TNNA – Trend Report

Hello Everyone-

Want to get the inside scoop on the needlework trends? Let’s take a look at what exhibitors and designers had in their booths this year.

Shadow Boxes!

Shadow boxes were big at the show with seasonal displays like Kelly Clarks Spring and Summer Shadow Box series. A stitched design was the center, with buttons and trims around it.

Ornaments!

A huge trend right now is having year long ornament trees. Not just for Christmas, ornaments are big for all the seasons now.

Shelly Tribbey Designs Ornament Tree

Canvas Candy by Jill Likes displayed beautiful ornaments. She had a lot of food motifs packaged in beautiful boutique boxes. Jill also had some pretty Asian inspired doll ornaments that were very lovely. Canvas Candy is a new exhibitor and Jill said that the food ornaments were selling very well.

Princess and Me wowed me with their beautiful and contemporary designs. I especially loved their “Things on a String” series. The cupcakes (of course I go for the cupcakes) were too cute.

Halloween!

Halloween is hot right now! Almost every designer at the show had Halloween designs. Maybe the movie twilight is making an impact? Or maybe it’s because Halloween can be transferable into spooky and whimsical, or fun and playful.

Raymond Crawford had some fun Halloween and Twilight inspired designs that were finished into pillows and ornaments.

Beth Gantz had some Halloween ornaments that used DMC Pearl Cotton.

Kelly Clark displayed Halloween ornament trees and canvases.

That’s what’s popular right now in the needlework industry!

xoxo Emma Broidery
