DMC Giveaway – Perpetual Calendar from France
Thursday, September 1, 2011
DMC is giving away five (5) limited edition French hardbound diaries that contain beautiful inspiring photos of needlework. The back of the book features patterns and charts for the designs shown, and includes both vintage and new designs for you to stitch as well as pages where you can keep track of your important events.
You can peek inside this beautiful book here!
The diary was created by Fabienne Bassange, author of ten books of cross stitch patterns, including the book Once Upon a Time for DMC, dedicated to Thérèse de Dilmont, the infamous and well-loved protagonist of the embroidery world. In this book Fabienne recounts the history of DMC, and also includes a faithful reproduction of the first cross stitch album by Thérèse de Dilmont.
To win a copy of the Agenda Perpetuél, tell us a bit about your favorite type of DMC Embroidery Thread by posting in the comments area here on the blog, on our Facebook Page, or Tweet us @DMCThreads!
I’m excited about this giveaway – and looking forward to reading your comments!

My favorite is the 6 strand embroidery floss. I started embroidery work in 1967 and have always used DMC.
Satin Floss and Perle Cotton are my favorites
I hae been stitching for over 35 years I have learned to use all of the DMC threads. Not just on fabric but on my handmade cards.
I always use DMC embroidery floss (6 thread skeins) for all my needlework as I find colours are consistant when I need to buy more and quality is fantastic. It also is colourfast so have no problems when I need to wash my work.
My favorite is the 6 strand embroidery floss and have had the full collection for over 25 years! Every time new colors come out I run to the nearest craft store and stock up. I have also used dome of the variegated threads when the chart called for hand dyed silk. I have used some of those but find that my DMC thread is the best. I also love the no. 6 cotton for antique sampler reproductions and specialty stitches!
Always use DMC.Love 6 strand perle!
DMC!! of course – floss and perle cotton. My favs.
I have always used DMC embroidery thread – started a long long time ago and all the other threads aren’t in the same category. I still have a shirt I embroidered back in high school – many many moons ago – the shirt is looking rather tired, but the embroidery is holding up just fine!
I like the regular six-strand embroidery floss! However, I am excited to buy the Holiday Light Effects pack later this year!
Definitely the 6 strand floss, though I hadn’t realised what a wide range are available. Time for some exploring I think.
I use perle coton and six strand floos which ihave all the colors plus . I love the perle cotton #8. I am trying to colect all the colors in these also. I would like to see more colors for thread painting in the six strand cotton thread.

Love satin floss – as versatile as the standard 6 strand embroidery floss, with just that touch of sheen. My finished pieces capture and reflect light, without being flashy. Love!!!
I love using dmc rayon! I love the super shine it gives, it’s great for so many things, but I especially like using it for water themes and it’s good too for fairy wings.
DMC has always been my go-to thread for my embroidery projects of all types. I’m such a fan of color, I just love to organize and -reorganize my collection!
