Designs for Fashion Embroidery

Monday, March 21, 2011

In my last blog, I showed you some of the awesome embroidered fashion trends for Spring 2011 from the runways of top designers, along with their corresponding DMC Embroidery Floss Colors.

This week I’m posting two (2) pages full of patterns that are perfect for embroidering on shirts, blouses, jeans, skirts,  jackets and shorts – pretty much any fabric or clothing surface.

Two of the patterns have been stitched in the popular 2011 colors so you can see just how pretty they are!

Pattern Page 1 features this ethnic-inspired Paisley design, which was worked in colors 902, 3854, 3844, 3851 and 340.

The Surface Embroidery Stitches used in the Paisley design include the back stitch, satin stitch, single chain stitch and French knots.

Pattern Page 2 features the Bird on a Limb design, which has been worked in 902, 340, 796, 3854, and 3851.

Stitches used in the Bird on a Limb design are the back stitch, with the eye embroidered in a simple French knot.

Each of these pattern pages features several different patterns that can be mixed and matched in any combination.

Check out my tips for transferring embroidery designs to fabric before starting your project.

Have Fun!

Your stitcheries are so cute and the colors are lovely!

I hope sometime in the near future DMC will open up opportunities for Hand Embroidery Mentors in addition to the
    Cross Stitch Mentors program.
