Cross Stitch Crown Tutorial

Thursday, January 8, 2015

Tuto Crown for the Galette de Rois is a fabulous universal crown project which can be made at any time of the year.  This project was posted on DMC France Blog around Christmastime. However I thought with the reds and creamy white colors that it could be a perfect crown to make for Valentine’s Day.

Directions

1. Cut a crown shape out of a piece of Charles Craft Vinyl Aida

2. Thread needle with light effects color of choice and begin stitching a continuous cross stitch “x” shape around the crown.

3. Stitch a few circle, button hole or heart shapes at the crown points.

So many possibilities with this project.  A crown for Valentine’s Day, St. Patty’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Birthdays, the list goes on.  I’d love to see what you come up with.
