I have seen so many lovely stitch samplers this week, I thought I’d share a few with you – first up, we have a gorgeously simple idea brought to you by Gabi on the group embroidery blog, Feeling Stitchy.
Another pretty stitch sampler on a circular theme is this beautiful piece by Brett Bara, featured on Design Sponge. I adore the simple artfulness of this piece, and the detailed stitching and finishing tutorial Brett gives.
Working on an ombre theme, like the lovely piece we featured last week, this project would be perfect for 10 shades of DMC embroidery floss. To add extra sheen, try blending in shades of DMC Satin Floss.
I’m also thoroughly enjoying the progress Nydia is making in her Flickr photos – on this beautiful Dropcloth sampler designed by Rebecca Ringquist. The colors Nydia has chosen are sumptuous and delectable. And so many beautiful stitches!
In her background post on the Dropcloth samplers, Rebecca Ringquist mentions using DMC Pearl Cotton Balls in size 8 – and the thread weight looks perfect to make all those lines and textures really pop against the white fabric.
Lastly, this lovely small sampler by Diane Quintana on Flickr is an absolute delicacy of color and texture. I love the variety of bright colors and texture in this inspired practice piece!
Have any of you been inspired by these stitch samplers? We’d love, as always to see what you make!
