Bon Voyage en France
Monday, June 25, 2012I promised a video of how we make DMC Threads – I posted it below, it will not disappoint!
The video is awesome – you will get an insiders view into how DMC textiles and threads are manufactured and made in Mulhouse France! This detailed look inside the historical factory gives you a front row seat into DMC’s patented skeining process, dying process and the rich history of DMC.
I had a great time in my trip to France. It’s always great to visit with my French colleagues and see all the fun creativity brewing in DMC headquarters. Taking a tour of the DMC Factory was definitely a highlight – I had seen it once before but it’s magical every time.
I walked through each incredible step…
and got to see when the cotton thread arrives from Egypt…
…To when it gets singed to burn the hairs off, one of the many processes to ensure
the thread is luxuriously smooth and lustrous.
Then prepared for dying…
…Finally into the packaging to be shipped off to the world and into the hands of our lovely stitchers and crafters.
It’s an incredible experience. One that I hope sometime soon I can share with my wonderful readers
More to come soon!

That was pretty awesome!
Stitchers paradise….
