Art Opera Coverage

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Hello my friends!

I just came back from the coolest event! It was called the Art Opera, and it was full of magic and inspiration! The event was held in Redbank New Jersey in an effort to bring together the art community of the east coast. This was the first year of the event and it will continue to be held every year around spring time.

Lisa Kettell author of Altered Art Circus was the organizer of this event, and she did an amazing job. I went to the Dinner Group Soiree held at the Oyster Point Hotel to support Lisa and to give out some fun DMC freebies. Everyone was very excited to receive some DMC samples. I brought with me a special guest, the Craftaholic Diane Gonzales, who created an altered piece using DMC Threads. Everyone went crazy over it! Here it is below, isn’t it fun?

The theme of Art Opera 2010 is Vintage Coney Island and Seaside Flapper. The dinner banquet room was decorated beautifully with gorgeous party favors that we got to take home.

Beautiful paper cone filled with treats for every attendee

Lovely crowns, I was queen of my table so I wore this crown all night!

My fabulous goody bag filled with amazing stuff!

Nancy from Parcel in Montclair New Jersey was there with her new line of beautiful designs that will be available in craft and paper stores around the country.

The other instructors are very well known artists and the workshops for today and tomorrow look amazing! I wish I could go! Here are some of the projects that the Art Opera workshops will teach.

The Art Opera Pageant award went to... Lisa Kettell of course! The pageant winner garb is beautiful isn't it?

It was a wonderful event with a great turnout. I know all the attendees will have a wonderful time this weekend. I am so glad I was able to be a part of it. Much luck to Lisa Kettell and all her future Art Opera’s!

Love-

Emma Broidery

C’Belle of the C’Ball is wonderful, using a great shade of blue or is it teal?
